How to convert PNG to JPG
- 1

Drop it onto the page or choose it from your device.
- 2
Choose a background
If the PNG has transparent areas, pick the colour that fills them. White is selected by default.
- 3
Convert and download
Select Optimize image, compare the result, and download your JPG.
What happens to transparency
JPG can't store transparency. When a PNG has transparent areas, PixMino fills them with a solid colour before converting: white by default, black, or any colour you pick.
The background option only appears when the image actually contains transparency.
Why JPG is usually smaller
For photos and images with gradients, JPG's lossy compression typically gives a much smaller file than PNG. Add a file size limit to go further: PixMino finds the highest quality that fits it.
When to keep PNG
Screenshots with small text, logos and flat graphics can show soft edges or faint blocks around sharp lines after JPG compression. Check with the comparison slider; if the edges matter, keep PNG or try WebP.
Supported formats
PixMino opens five formats and saves four. HEIC photos from iPhones are saved as JPG or PNG.

Questions
Can I choose the background colour?
Yes. When the PNG has transparent areas, the Format section offers white, black and a custom colour picker.
Will text in my screenshot stay sharp?
At high quality it usually stays readable, but JPG can soften sharp edges. Choose Best quality and compare before downloading.
Can I convert and keep it under 100 KB?
Yes. Choose 100 KB under File size limit before selecting Optimize image.
