Why WebP for websites
WebP was designed for the web. For photos it typically produces files a quarter to a third smaller than JPG at similar quality, so pages load faster and use less data. Every current major browser displays WebP.
PixMino shows the real before and after sizes, so you can see the saving for your own image rather than a general promise.
Where WebP may not work
Some older desktop software, office documents and upload forms still expect JPG or PNG. Keep the original JPG for those, or convert back with WebP to JPG if needed.
Resize for the space it fills
A 4000 px wide photo shown in a 1200 px column wastes most of its pixels. Set the width to the largest size the image is displayed at, about twice that for sharp screens, and the WebP becomes much smaller still.
Supported formats
PixMino opens five formats and saves four. HEIC photos from iPhones are saved as JPG or PNG.

Questions
Does converting JPG to WebP lose quality?
WebP is compressed again, so a little detail can change. At Balanced or Best quality the difference is very hard to see; use the slider to check.
Is WebP supported everywhere?
All current major browsers show WebP. Some older apps and forms don't accept it; keep a JPG for those.
Can I convert many JPGs to WebP at once?
Yes. Switch to Batch, choose WebP as the format and download all results as a ZIP.
