How to compress images in bulk

  1. 1

    Add the images

Drop up to 100 JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF or HEIC files, or choose several at once.

  2. 2

    Set the rules once

Choose the format, maximum dimensions, size limit and file names. They apply to every image.

  3. 3

    Optimize and download

Follow the progress per image, then download all results as a ZIP.

One set of settings, every image

Batch mode applies the same rules to the whole list. Keep each image's format or convert them all, fit them within a maximum size, give them all an exact size, or scale them by a percentage.

With a size limit, PixMino searches the best quality for each image separately. Keep “Reduce dimensions when an image can't reach the limit” on and it also finds the largest size that fits for the images that need it.

Names that stay organised

Keep the original names, or use a pattern with {original}, {number}, {width} and {height}. A pattern such as product-{number} gives product-001.jpg, product-002.jpg and so on. PixMino previews the names before you start and never creates two files with the same name.

Honest results, image by image

Each image shows its own status: done, over the limit, failed or cancelled, with the reason. A damaged file doesn't stop the others. When the batch ends you get a summary such as “47 completed, 2 failed, 1 cancelled”.

The ZIP includes only the images that meet your settings. Images that stayed over the limit can still be downloaded one by one.

Built for your device's memory

PixMino processes up to two images at a time on computers and one at a time on phones, and releases each image as soon as it's done. You can cancel at any moment and keep what's already finished.

Supported formats

PixMino opens five formats and saves four. HEIC photos from iPhones are saved as JPG or PNG.

Photos and images with soft gradients.
Transparency
Not supported.
Compression
Lossy, with adjustable quality.

PNG

Best for
Screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges or text.
Transparency

Lossless. Can use fewer colours where the change is invisible.

WebP

Best for
Websites that need small files.
Transparency
Supported.
Compression
Lossy, usually smaller than JPG at similar quality.

AVIF

Best for
The smallest photo files for modern websites.
Transparency
Supported.
Compression
Lossy, often smaller than WebP. Slower to create.

HEIC

Best for
Photos taken on iPhone and iPad. Opened by PixMino, saved as JPG or PNG.
Transparency
Not used by camera photos.
Compression
Lossy and very efficient, but poorly supported outside Apple devices.

AVIF and HEIC use codecs downloaded the first time you need them; after that they work offline. Animated images are converted as a single frame.

Questions

How many images can I process at once?

Up to 100 per batch, each up to 50 MB. Start a new batch for more.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Every image is processed by your browser, and the ZIP is created on your device.

What happens if one image fails?

It's marked as failed with the reason, and the rest continue. Select Optimize again to retry the failed and cancelled images only.

Can I convert HEIC photos in bulk?

Yes. Add the HEIC files and keep Format on Keep or choose JPG: HEIC photos are saved as JPG.
