What 100 KB allows
A typical photo saved as JPG reaches 100 KB at roughly 1,000 to 1,500 pixels on its longest side. That's enough for a clear photo on a phone screen or a document page that remains readable.
From a modern phone camera, which produces 12 to 48 megapixel photos, PixMino will usually need to reduce the dimensions as well. It recommends the largest size that fits, so you don't lose more detail than necessary.
Common uses
- Job applications and online forms that limit attachments to 100 KB.
- Scanned documents, certificates and ID copies in JPG.
- Product photos for listings with strict upload limits.
- Images for blogs and newsletters that should load quickly.
Scanned documents
For scans, keep the text readable rather than the photo sharp: 1,200 to 1,600 pixels wide is often enough for an A4 page. Use the comparison slider to check small print before you download.
Supported formats
PixMino opens five formats and saves four. HEIC photos from iPhones are saved as JPG or PNG.

Questions
Is 100 KB counted as 100,000 or 102,400 bytes?
PixMino uses 100,000 bytes. A file under that is also under 102,400 bytes, so it fits either way.
My PDF scan needs to be 100 KB. Can PixMino help?
PixMino works with images, not PDFs. If you have the scan as JPG or PNG, it can bring it under 100 KB.
What if it still won't fit?
Apply the suggested dimensions, allow stronger compression, or try WebP if the site accepts it.
